Would you kill for a gritty Scandi Noir, or is cosy Miss Marple more your cup of tea?
There are so many varieties of "Crime" today that it's as overwhelming as a John le Carré novel. Amazon alone have 16 different subgenres under their banner "Mystery/ Thriller/ Suspense"— including "Female Protagonists", "Psychological Thrillers", "Disturbing, "Vengeful" and "Horror" (gasp).
And for some crime lovers that's terrific. The more the merrier. But many others are as loyal to their genre as they are to their loved ones.
As for me? Well, I can be a little unfaithful at times! While my usual go-to is a well-written cosy (yes, what a surprise), I do enjoy a good psychological suspense and am not averse to the odd thriller/suspense, just as long as they go easy on the blood and gore. And that's why, apart from my best-selling cosy series—The Murder Mystery Book Club—I also write several other crime genres (see more on that below).
What's YOUR favourite style?
Do you have a preferred sub-genre or are you as traitorous as me? Whatever your predilection, I'd love to hear from you. Just jot me a quick reply email listing your fave type/s and why. Keep it short and simple and you could…

CRIME AS VARIED AS MY KILLERS
While I'm best known for cosy crime, did you know my first murder mystery, An Island Lost, was more a family saga with a mystery at its heart? Or that my personal favourite, and the most critically acclaimed, is actually a psychological suspense called After the Ferry that's based on a real-life travel story of mine?
I've also produced an edgier crime series starring a savvy female sleuth and her friends—The Ghostwriter Mysteries (exclusive to Amazon)—and have two feel-good whodunnits that are masquerading as magical realism—Do Not Go Gentle and Do Not Go Alone.
And if you like a bit of everything? I think my Sleuths of Last Resort series fits the bill—not too edgy, not too cosy and a dash of romance mixed in with some thriller/suspense.

Until then, have a wonderful month, folks. I look forward to hearing from you ([email protected]) and hope you enjoy whatever it is that's currently sitting on your bedside table.
